Specimen Type: Plasma
Container/Tube: Mint-green top (lithium heparin gel)
Alternative Container/Tube: Gray top (potassium oxalate/sodium fluoride)

Alternative Specimen Type:  Serum

Alternative Container/ Tube: Gold, Serum gel

Specimen Volume: Full tube

Collection Instructions:

1. Patient should be fasting for at least 8 hours prior to start of testing.

2. Draw baseline glucose specimen.

3. Have patient ingest 100 grams of Glucola.

4. Draw blood at 1 hour, 2 hour, and 3 hour intervals post ingestion.

Additional Information: Label specimens appropriately (corresponding draw times).
