Light Microscopy

Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Bladder washing, catheterized urine, renal washing, voided urine

Container/Tube: Container with CytoRich Red Collection Fluid

Specimen Volume: Adequate volume

Collection Instructions:

1. Void first-morning urine specimen and discard.

2. Collect second-voided urine specimen (preferred specimen).

3. Label container with patient’s name (first and last), date of birth, medical record number, date of collection, and type of specimen. Patient’s chart label may replace the name, date of birth, and medical record number.

4. Specimen type and clinical data are required.
