Specimen Type: IV tip-Foley catheter tip is not acceptable.

Specimen Volume: 2 inches of distal end

Collection Instructions: Indicate specimen source (ie, arterial line)

Additional Information:

1. Simultaneous blood culture collection is recommended in differentiating between IV line colonization and IV line-associated sepsis.

2. Immediately deliver to laboratory.
