Orthopox Virus (Monkeypox)  PCR

Important Note

REFRIGERATE Sample upon collection, transport to MBMC Lab with Ice pack.

Simultaneously detects 1) non-variola orthopoxviruses and 2) monkeypox virus (West African clade/Clade II) DNA.  This allows for differentiation between monkeypox viral DNA from other non-variola orthopoxviruses, enabling a definitive diagnosis.
