Additional Information:
Preop/Pretest only: A patient who has not been pregnant or transfused in the last 3 months can have Type and Screen specimen drawn up to 30 days prior to surgery date. Transfusion and pregnancy history, along with surgery date, should be documented on the request for Type and Screen. If the patient has been pregnant or transfused in the last 3 months, or status is unknown, the specimen must be drawn <3 days prior to surgery.
