Reference Values

See Interpretive comments associated with test result.  In the context of routine screening, a reactive result may be post infection or post vaccination and is consistent with immunity to Hepatitis B virus. A nonreactive result is consistent with lack of immunity to Hepatitis B virus. If result is equivocal, the immune status should be further assessed, if appropriate, after consideration of clinical status, risk factors and additional diagnostic information.

A quantitative result will also be reported if the antibody concentration is greater than or equal to the positive cut-off of 11.5 mlU/ml.
