Specimen Requirements

Specimen Type: Whole blood

Container/Tube: Lavender top (EDTA)-Separator gel tube is not acceptable.

Specimen Volume: Full tube

 

Collection Instructions:

Do not centrifuge.

1. Draw specimen for trough level immediately prior to next dose.

2. Due to diurnal variations in drug clearance, the same time of day for drawing should be    maintained.

Additional Information:

1. Date and time of draw are required.

2. Indicate trough LAB6079 or random LAB874 on request form.

3. Label specimen appropriately (trough, random).

The therapeutic range for cyclosporine can vary by transplant organ type and sample timing but a trough range of 100 - 400 ng/mL is typical.
