If the ordered test is HPV as primary (HPV High Risk and Genotyping 16 /18 with reflex to PAP), Cytology, Liquid Based PAP will reflex if HPV is Detected.
Specimen Requirements
Call Missouri Baptist Medical Center Laboratory at 314-996-4222 option 3 to request the Cytology Requisition.
Specimen Type: Cervix, endocervix, vagina
Container/Tube: Thin Prep Vial with PreservCyt solution
Specimen Volume: Adequate sampling
Collection Instructions:
1. Rinse appropriate collection devices into PreservCyt solution vial.
2. Label vial with patient’s name (first and last), date of birth, date and actual time of collection, and source of specimen.
