Interpretive Data

Mumps IgG  Result Interpretation 
  Nonreactive No detectable antibody to mumps. Such individuals are presumed to be uninfected and susceptible to primary infection.
   Equivocal Presence or absence of detectable mumps antibody cannot be determined.  Submit new specimen if clinically indicated.
  Reactive Results suggest response to immunization or prior exosure to the virus.

Analyte Stability:

Serum may be stored at 2o C to 8o C for up to 7 days prior to assay, with no more than 3 freeze/thaw cycles.

Specimen can be frozen at ≤-20o C for 6 months.

Laboratory Processing Instructions:

Test performed in BJH Core Lab.  Specimen will be processed by the automated line for delivery to AOB with a minimum or 1mL of serum. Completed specimens will be stored for 7 days refrigerated.
